19 Inexpensive Ways to Have Fun in College

When you’re a college student you know how tough it can be to go out, especially if you are on a budget and don’t have a lot of money to spend. You want to have fun, yet you also need to pay tuition, buy books, toiletries, food, and have a little spare money in case of an emergency. You might think that this leaves no money for having fun, but that’s not true! You don’t have to stay in the dorm watching everyone else have fun. You can definitely still go out with friends and have fun in college! In fact, most of the time the cheapest outings are the ones that are the most fun. It really does not matter how much you spend when you go out, because when you graduate you aren’t going to remember the stuff you bought; you are only going to be left with fun and crazy memories of the people you spent time with. So how in the world are you supposed to have fun in your free time in college? Here are some really fun and cheap ways that you can have be entertained, while saving money and creating awesome college memories with your friends. Try them out, and even if some of them aren’t exactly your cup of tea, at least you are not wasting money!

1.     Have a picnic at the beach or the park with your friends.

2.     Go hiking outdoors and explore Mother Nature.

3.     Go out with your friends and take funny random pictures, then make a collage or video with music.

4.     Make a funny video with your friends and upload it to YouTube.

5.     Play your favorite old-school board games like Monopoly or Scrabble; you’ll be surprised at how much fun they can be when you play with friends.

6.     Play Just Dance on YouTube –you don’t even need to buy a Wii!

7.     Make a kite and try to fly it.

8.     Go stargazing and try to find the constellations

9.     Browse around thrift stores.

10.Go into the fancy department stores and try on a bunch of fancy dresses, then take pictures.

11.Have your friends bring over a bunch of snacks and comfy pillows, and throw a funny or scary movie marathon.

12.Look through old photo albums and share them with friends.

13.Have a karaoke night, and make sure to record it!

14.Have an epic pillow fight.

15.Join a club with your friends that you’re interested in.

16.Volunteer off-campus with your friends.

17.Go to sports and cultural events, which usually offer free food and goodies.

18.Find out what days your local movie theater offers cheaper movie tickets.

19.Take advantage of any free concerts or festivals going on around campus.
